Selling England by the Pound.

Posted: October 14, 2013 in This is the Voice of Lefty Reason

Yet another piece of the Commanding Heights of the economy was flogged off last week as the LibTory Loons packaged up and sold a large part of the Royal Mail.  This particular piece of economic lunacy was considered “too right wing” even for the demented Margaret Thatcher to sanction.  The rise and rise of privatisation seems to be unstoppable; it continues to spirit publicly owned and funded industries away from the Government into the hands of the circling profit-vulture Bonkers-Bankers of “The City”.  The City loves a sell off, its red braces and buy-buy-buy mentality all of a quiver as its computer based no-lose gambling Quants work their dark arts.  The small investors, so beloved of The Thatch, will be in and out like the hokey-cokey; quick buy, quick sell, quick profit. Wham-bam-thank-you-Vince.  The shares will yet again end up in the grubby hands of the already rich.  Endless dividends will be trousered and the “drive for efficiency” will result in fewer workers having to do the work of redundant colleagues.  Does anyone, and I mean anyone, really expect that the service will improve?  Or that prices will come down?  Like telecoms, gas, rail, water and  electricity the post has gone.  We will not see its like again.
